Bush has truly gone mad.

Yes, he's planning on nuking Iran. This is from Seymour Hersh of the New Yorker. That's a top name in the news business, folks, in case you didn't know. Go on over to AMERICAblog and read about it right here.

Or check in with the Think Progress article which says this:

A new report by Seymour Hersh finds that senior Bush administration officials are developing plans for a massive attack on Iran which could include nuclear weapons. Hersh points out that the Joint Chiefs of Staff — a panel of the highest-ranking military officials from each branch of the U.S. armed services — are strenuously opposed to the plan, so much so that some have threatened to resign if it goes forward.

Words simply fail me at this point. I truly wonder if the world is going to last much longer.

Well, there are two options here:

Either Jesus can come back sooner, or the administration is trying to provoke an attack on IRAQ (and the foreign troops stationed there), by IRAN, in order to create some sense of national unity in the Iraqis (a common enemy other than the U.S.). This reeks of Realpolitik.
