Too sensible to be tried

From a comment off of Smirking Chimp:

If you do not spend your days becoming paralyzed with fear about secondhand smoke, guns, traffic or a vengeful god, I suggest you not be scared of a 'terrorist'. The way to combat terrorism is to invest in education, healthcare, and affordable housing. Instead of 150,000 combat troops in Iraq we should have sent 150,000 Peace Corps volunteers. Instead of sending 'Friends of George and Dick' to blow things up, we should have sent President Carter and Habitat for Humanity.

But, of course, the administration does not really want to combat terrorism. They want to keep us afraid and get us accustomed to a police state.
