This really sickens me

The name of the CNN piece is "Churchgoers more likely to back torture, survey finds". Take a look:

The more often Americans go to church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists, according to a new analysis.

More than half of people who attend services at least once a week — 54 percent — said the use of torture against suspected terrorists is “often” or “sometimes” justified. Only 42 percent of people who “seldom or never” go to services agreed, according the analysis released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

Shameful. Shameful.

It would be interesting to see how this would tend to breakdown in different church groups. If the church groups were evangelistic in nature, I would not be at all surprised with the results as they tend to believe in corporal punishment and the death penalty. It all fits with that "divine retribution". Yet, they wonder why some of us walk away from them.

  4. No, of course not, Tracie. (Deep, deep sigh.)

  5. Tracie, you posted something over on Mad Priest's Thought for the Day and I replied. Then I noticed your post (AND the one with your grammar correction regarding your original post) had disappeared so I deleted my reply to you.

Odd. Very odd. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

    ?????

I did see that, and I think I know why MP removed it all. Troll-feeding and whatnot. I'm not too worried about it.
